I inserted text to support the background image and also text to tell the reader what will be inside the magazine to make them want to read it. I have used the colours blue and yellow as they stand out and are easy to read against the background. I made the quote blue as it is a cold colour, demonstating Sarah's depression. I have chosen this particular font as it it is easy to read and looks good.

When you analyse your own media texts - or anyone else's for that matter - try to explain deeper than just 'it looks good', 'it's easy to read' or it 'stands out'. Everything in Media is done to look good, stand out and be easy to read. Better to say that you put the quote in blue because it's a cold colour, suggestive of depression and so fitting for the tone and subject of Susan's words. You could also say that you chose the font because it has a large, rounded, informal look which is reminiscent of a schoolchild's handwriting, or a teacher's writing on a board.
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way, your cover photo looks really effective, well done.
